GERMAN POTATO SALAD (a different version that many are familiar with)
SPRINGERLE ...
a type of German biscuit with an embossed design made by pressing a mold onto rolled dough and allowing the impression to dry before baking. This preserves the detail of the surface pattern. My grandmother wrote the family recipe on this page.

Found this recipe online that is
close to what was made.

Welcome to this page...

My grandfather was born on June 25, 1903 in Harsberg-Gänsberg, Wuerttemburg, Germany. He was known to have grown up in  Stuttgart, Germany. He left Germany & came over to America on November 24,  1921. He departed, from Hamburg, on the ship, S.S Bayern & arrived in America on December 10, 1921.

I have wonderful memories of my grandfather. His English was mostly clearly understood,
with a distinct hint of being Germain.

One of his siblings... a sister, who I remember...  Aunt Anna, born on March 27, 1894,
in Gänsberg, Bavaria, Germany.
She came to America, arriving on October 1921, on the ship, S. S. Mount Clinton.

This page is dedicated to the tasteful recipes that were from
my grandfather's family
AND were/are very GERMAN!
